Who we are
The Learning Company International (“we”, “us”, “our”) is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. We are registered in England and Wales, company number 1012652, with a registered office at Centenary House, Penisula Park, Rydon Lane, Exeter, Devon, EX2 7XE.
This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it. It applies to this website and to our work with clients and programme participants.
Information we collect
We collect information you give us directly, and a limited amount of technical information automatically.
- Enquiry details. When you complete our contact form we collect your name, email address, company name and the content of your message.
- Programme delivery information. Where you take part in a programme we may hold attendance records, assessment or profiling results, and feedback you provide.
- Correspondence. Emails, calls and meeting notes relating to our work together.
- Technical information. IP address, browser type, pages visited and referring pages, collected through cookies and similar technologies.
How we use it
- To respond to your enquiry and provide the services you have asked for.
- To design, deliver and evaluate learning programmes.
- To administer contracts, invoicing and record keeping.
- To improve our website and understand how it is used.
- To send you information about our services where you have asked us to, or where we have a legitimate interest in doing so and you have not objected.
Our lawful bases
Under UK GDPR we rely on the following lawful bases: contract, where processing is necessary to deliver services you have engaged us for; legitimate interests, for responding to enquiries, running our business and limited marketing to business contacts; consent, for non-essential cookies and where you have opted in to receive communications; and legal obligation, where we must retain records for tax or regulatory purposes.
Where we process profiling or assessment results, we do so on the basis of your consent and the contract with our client, and we will always tell you how results will be used before you complete an assessment.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with organisations that help us operate, and only as far as necessary:
- Our website host and email provider.
- Professional advisers, including accountants and legal advisers.
- The client organisation that commissioned a programme, where you are a participant ‐ normally in aggregated or anonymised form unless we have told you otherwise.
Some providers may process data outside the UK. Where that happens we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or an adequacy decision.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry information for 36 months from our last contact with you. Records relating to a delivered programme are kept for 36 months to support follow-up and evaluation. Financial records are kept for six years as required by law. After these periods we delete or anonymise the information.
Your rights
You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to have inaccurate information corrected, to ask us to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive a copy in a portable format, and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would ask you to raise it with us first so we have the chance to put it right.
Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including access controls, encryption in transit and supplier due diligence. No system is completely secure, but we review our arrangements regularly.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. Where changes are significant we will make that clear on this page.
